I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 (2017) which I have been using paired with my Fitbit Alta HR for over a year now. Suddenly, the app tells me the device cannot be found and will not sync.

I have tried:

Turning off and on my Bluetooth, my phone, the app. Turning on "always sync". Uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Charging my phone and the Fitbit to full battery. Unpairing my Fitbit to re-pair.

Now my Fitbit is not paired and I cannot pair it again because the device still cannot be found.

Please help!

A couple more things to try:

Restart your fitbit by:

  1. Plug your charging cable into a USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display. Your tracker will begin charging.

  3. Press the button on your charging cable 3 times within a few seconds, briefly pausing between presses. The button is on the end of the charging cable that is plugged into your computer. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, this means the tracker has restarted.
  4. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

(you may want to try this a couple of times as it doesn't always work)

You could also try going into your phone bluetooth settings and "forget" the link to the fitbit.

Thanks Steve,

I reset my fitbit and it took several tries to get it to connect again, but after around 5 attempts at pairing it finally worked! I didn't even lose any of the unsynced data from the past day. Hoping it doesn't have any more problems for a while 🙂
