Android 7 Phone Compatibility with Fitbit App

I have used my Samsung galaxy j5(2016)  os 7.1.1 with charge 4 without any issues for sometime. Noticed that it had not synced last Sunday, 3 days ago. Phone could not connect or find it  on a Bluetooth scan even after it was unpaired. Rebooted device, power cycled phone with no luck. So I uninstall app and tried to reinstall but had the message that my phone was not compatible. I can find conflicting info on the website stating 8.0 and then higher than 7 should work. I have installed the app on my tablet successfully but that's not the point. Is there any else I can try to get it back on the phone?

Hi @AndyMac01  sadly, no. The only app available on the Play Store is for Android 8 and higher. Once you removed the app from your phone, there was no way to get it back.

Stepping in the U.S.A. since September 2013. Android 14

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @AndyMac01. Thanks for the information provided @Odyssey13

@AndyMac01 Thanks for the details in your post. As @Odyssey13 mentioned above and as you can confirm on our website, your phone must have Android 8 or higher installed so you can download the Fitbit app. Unless you can upgrade your phone's operative system to Android 8, it's not possible to download the Fitbit app again. I'm sorry for this inconvenience.

On a side note, I moved your post to the Android board to keep the Community organized.

See you around.
