I use a Withings scale and, since I can no longer easily hide the weight reading on the new Fitbit Android app dashboard, I decided to start importing the data. Works perfectly.... except.....
On days when I don't weigh myself the dashboard invents weight readings for me. For example if I only step on the scales to weigh myself once a week, and lose 7lbs in that week, all seven days of the week will be populated with weight readings on the dashboard.
These readings are presumably based on some guesswork - sorry 'algorithm' - about how and when I would have lost the weight. Since the invented data doesn't appear to be a straight line between the two true readings then maybe it's the algorithm that draws a smooth curve on the graphs of weight as a 'trend' line? It is however utterly spurious and worse, misleading, to display false data points invented to facilitate that curve in the dashboard shown to the user. I would much rather see a 'No Data - you should weigh yourself every day' nag in the dashboard than false data.
Click into the weight line on the app dashboard and only the actual genuine historic weight measures from when I really did step on the scales are shown. I shouldn't need to drill down to get to the true readings though.
Deliberately polluting the dashboard with invented readings isn't helpful at all. Quite the opposite. How do I get rid of them?
