Android App Version 2.80.1 will not Sync

I have the newest version and it will not sync; the only counting it's doing is calories; but since it's not doing steps, walks, etc. I'm not sure how.  Is there a fix for this?

I have found using Fitbit Connect keeps the server up to date and it then communicates via the web and updates the phone..

 

It's a pain because I have never had issues with syncing until this update.  Also my notifications have ceased.
