Accepted Solutions

I think I just found solution.

In fitbit app you tap the plus as you do to start exercise hit start exercise then tap setting wheel at the top.

Voice cues

Exercise stats

Choose Voice cues (mine and my husband were un checked)

Check all and save

Then tap preview cues

She finally says some generic stats.

Have not yet tested during walk.

Having the same problem! Have an android device also.

Had same experience and disappointment with July Google Changes to FITBIT app.  Followed their suggestions: 1) "Usually app issues can be resolve by force closing then relaunching the app"--- did not change situation.  2) "If this doesn't work, you can restart your phone"

-- did not change.  When I rebooted App and phone, I went to the App Voice Cues page and turned-off the Play Voice Cues option, and then reset it to active state. However, testing the "preview voice cue" at bottom of page results in "Voice Cues Disabled" announcement.

3) "But if the issue persists, please contact us on our help page so you can share with us more details of the issue"  --- When I went to their website, I got to your open issue.  Don't know if they will acknowledge this, but at least I know I'm not alone.  I'm using Android 14 .

Another thought, has anybody checked to see if their Fitbit App is up to date. Or tried removing and reinstall the Fitbit app?

Having the same issue. Cleared cache, rebooted phone, reinstalled app, nothing has fixed the problem.

I tested this morning this is the fix.

Voice cues now work. Still no half mile option but you get your stats every 1 mile or kilometer depending on what you have set in your app settings.

Just finished my walk and found your suggestion.  Following your lead and got same results as yo, all stats were blank but once I checked them and tested, I got actual data not just 'not available' announcement.  Will see how this works later.  thanks

Also having the same issue... worked fine until the latest app update.

Solution posted in here did not work for me

Finally figured it out. You have to turn the voice cues on in two places. Turn on the voice cues and then turn them on again in the "Stats" drop-down. Dumb.

I think the exercise stats is what happened with update. We turned on "play voice cues" and nothing happened. It was  when I opened the "exercise stats". They all needed to be checked. That's when we finally got the talking lady back. Glad it worked for you too.

Just figured out I can include a screen shot. Follow my original directions. See screenshot.

When you open that and check Time Distance and Average pace/speed. Still not working? Once we hit save. We hit preview voice cues and got her with a generic stat cue. Then next time we walked it worked has been ever since. Fixed both my husband's and mine.

Hit the "+" then "start exercise" then the "Settings "The GEAR button ""
then it's under Voice Cues. They really made it hard to find.
