Android App won't let me add "steps"

When I use my elliptical, my Charge counts some of my steps- but not all of them so I was adding the difference in miles from what my fitbit said and what I actually did- but it never was accurate.  If I added 3 miles it would only add 1.9 miles to my mile total. I have an ifit elliptical that tells me exactly how many steps I take and I have started adding the difference in steps which makes the total miles almost perfect - however I cant change the option to steps on the track your exercise on my android app. It only lets me use miles.  Can anyone help tell me how to change that option.  I prefer accuracy of steps over trying to guess how many miles I have to enter to get to the total I walked.

Thanks in advance 🙂

It's nice to see you on board @jetjet I'll be happy to help you with that, since elliptical is not a steps based activity, your tracker doesn't record all the steps. If you want to manually log this activity, I recommend logging this activity as walking or running to get the average of steps you walked.

I hope this helps and good luck!

I use the elliptical for an hour each morning. I typically go +5 miles but my charge is always short and not consistent. Most days are barely a mile. Sometimes 4 miles but still short. It's difficult to meet my daily goal when so short. I'm not sure what to do to improve accuracy. Do you have a suggestion for me?
