Android - Text Notifications - Battery Optimisation

Like many others, I was experiencing an issue once the Android app version moved from 2.9 to 3+ where I was receiving all notifications except for text notifications.  I am running Android on a OnePlus 5T

 

These are finally working after I taking these steps:

- On the phone: Settings > Battery > Battery Optimisation.  Scroll down to Fitbit and change the option from "Optimise" to "Don't Optimise".

- From the Fitbit App: I did a manual sync, and then hit the garbage can icon to unlink my Blaze from the Phone

- I restarted both my Blaze and my Phone and then through the app, went through the process of finding and linking my Blaze from scratch.  This involved entering in the 4 digit PIN, etc.

 

I don't know if all of these steps are required, but they are exactly the steps I took, and now my text notifications are coming through again.
