Android app bugs after update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Since the latest update I have noticed some odd behaviour when accessing this forum through the phone app.

After select the help forum it is taking longer to access the site, fitbit symbol appears, then a log in grid, if you attempt to log in it won't recognise your password, ignore it and it then goes away and you get the spinning daisy and then you're in.

Once you're in the tab for looking for subjects which you would click on to make a query is not responding properly. Click it and the keyboard comes up but disappears again before you can enter anything. I have to just click on the magnifying glass symbol with nothing entered to get to the failed enquiry grid to be able to enter anything.

Whenever you do an update you say it's for bug fixes are you sure that you don't mean bug inclusions because that seems to invariably be the result?

I am wondering if a lot of people who are saying that they have been logged out and their password isn't recognised are seeing the same thing as me. I found that if it thinks I'm logged out and persists that I enter a password if I back out and go in again it lets me in.

All very tedious.

Hello @Lilbiddy.

Thanks for bringing this all up.

Could you share some screenshots of all of the issues that you mentioned? Being able to get a closer look at what is going on would definitely help us determine what is going on and how to move forward.

In the meantime, I'd recommend trying to uninstall the app and then install it again. That might help improve the functionality to make sure that the update was installed properly.

Look forward to your reply.

Hi @LanuzaFitbit , thanks for the prompt response. I wish I could send some screen shots but the log in screen and the keyboard bit are proving too elusive for me to catch them. I will say that I first noticed this with the previous update and I had hoped that this one would correct it.

One other thing was when I first loaded the update for some unknown reason I looked at notifications which normally says I have nothing to look at. Low and behold every notification that I had ever received from Christmas 2016 to date showed up. Every low battery warning, the lot. I did start to check some of them off but got interrupted by the little spinning circle, like it was updating the info then they all disappeared again.

The box now says I have no notifications again. This is all feeling a bit like my linking to the fitbit servers is not as direct as it was in the past,  akin to taking a slow train with extra stops.

I was more curious to see if anyone else was experiencing anything similar.

Hello @Lilbiddy.

Thanks for those updates.

Let's keep an eye on the thread and check if other users are experiencing a similar situation.

Be sure to try different internet connections if you have not already. Maybe a different connection will have an easier time loading everything up correctly.

Feel free to let me know if there is anything else that I can help you with.

I'm experiencing other difficulty after last update - battery drain. My phone is warm and battery is going down like crazy. 10% in 20minutes just the Fitbit app itself. I have to force quit the app. It helps for a while. (But the app it's otherwise "unkillable".). I somehow learn how to live with the fact that the app is not state of the art. It's slow, sluggish, not intuitive, section with watches is just pure tragedy, but at least I wasn't bothered by it...

(I didn't want to start new topic, because I think it's related.)

I'd like to take a closer look at your particular situation. Please answer these questions:

  • What phone are you using?
  • What Android version and what Fitbit app version are you running?
  • When did this start happening?

Look forward to your reply.

My app keeps telling me tracker not found and I have to constantly uninstall the app, turn the blue tooth off then back on. Then I have to refresh it multiple times before my versa is found. Very frustrating. It happens multiple times a day.

My app crashes 5 seconds after opening since the last update... None of their solutions work except trying a new phone...
