Whenever I try to record a walk in the android app, it will instead start to record a run. How do I fix this?

Have the same problem. All activity (walk and hike) are logged as run. There is a way to change the activity after it is stored.
Download the Fitbit app to Windows to your PC. Now you can select the workout you like to change.
On the top of the screen on the right side you have a pencil. Chose it, and among other things you can change the activity to walk or hike. Accept the changes an it is done.
Hope this will help some of you until the app is updated.
Best AnswerYes @Rlucascat, since your not using the Charge 2 to track your walk but your using the Android app.
@NYA2019 this has nothing to do with the auto detect function, which does record the walk as walk. The auto detect is a function of the Fitbit tracker. your ha omg problems using the Fitbit app to record the walk. The easiest work around is to use the manual mode called walk that will be found on the Charge 3.

Hello everyone!
Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences.
@Martinnb Thanks for posting that option. While certainly not optimal it is definitely a good workaround for the time being.
I'd like to ask some questions:
Look forward to your replies.

Hello
It happens only when I use tracking by GPS. It do not happens if I not track the activity by using the app on my mobil. I mostly track the exercise. I has just tried a walk without tracking and it was recognised correctly as a walk. I also have som Sport exercise that started correct automatic. For info I use the Charge 3.
There is a different here.
The auto exercise is started and managed by the Charge 3
The tracking exercise is started and managed by the app in the mobile
@Martinnb that is correct, it only happens when using the Android app to track your walk.
When you don't use the Fitbit app to record the walk, you are depending on the tracker on the wrist, not the app, to auto detect the walk.
As stated above you can still use your Fitbit tracker to record tyetgpd path by using the connected GPS and starting the gps recording on the wrist not the app.
This mode does use theGPS but doesn't use the fitbitFapp and it will record properly.
Yes @Sugar-Bun that is what this tenure as is a out. Do why not record your walk from the wrist and not the app(
Is it possible to re-categorise a Run to a Walk? If not, could this be added to the fix for this issue?
Regards
Best AnswerI don't have walk as an option on my Charge 2 - I have run amongst other exercises. I use the app because it uses GPS to draw a map. If I select run on my watch it doesn't do this.
@Sugar-Bun i would first remove run then you'll be able to add walk.

How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?
I don't have any screenshots at the moment as I've fixed all the walks that were incorrectly recorded, but the first time this happened was Friday, January 18th. It did not happen on Tuesday, January 15th - I tracked a walk that day and it didn't change it to run. The second time it occurred was Sunday, January 20th, and it just happened again today.
