Android app not syncing

Help. I'm going mental with app and phone not syncing workouts. After a number if calls to fitbit they say its a software issue amd will be fixed by 26th September. Call a couple of days later and told no eta. Fitbit twitter is just bot replies. Anyone else having this issue or know how to resolve?  Deleted and reinstalled app just for it to wipe all workout history. Not impressed with fitbit

I've got same problem with PW3.

Having just moved from Apple watch and the health app so far fitbit, Google and the pixel watch has been absolute trash, it hasn't synced in the two weeks I've had it. 👎

Let me know if you find a fix. I think it's a fitbit issue though. Don't
know why ots taking so long to sort... not.like Google are short of cash!

Hello @NikkiJ22 & @Klaus123go

From what I read, the 4.26.1 app update was supposed to include the fix for syncing issues between Fitbit devices, including the Pixel Watch, and the Fitbit app. As you both noted, the app update didn't fix the syncing problem.

I've seen Moderator posts from after the app update started rolling out acknowledging the syncing issue and that the team is working on fixing the problem.

At this point, there isn't any further troubleshooting that we can do since the problem is on the Fitbit side. If I learn of any updates, I'll report back.

As a fellow user dealing with the syncing issue, I'm as frustrated as you are about this.

My Inspire 3 stopped synching last week.  I've been on the forums, support website, and chat.  Jasmine on chat just explained that this is an emerging issue affecting all fitbits on Android.

I learned this only after 2 days of no response, such came after days on try this,  try that....  I'd be much more patient to let them fix the problem if they were more transparent.

Thats interesting to know. Mine (Charge 5) stopped syncing on Sunday night and after trying all the suggestions (restarting, turning Bluetooth off/on, uninstalling the app etc) was wondering whether the recent app update had a bug in it. I cant even connect via Bluetooth at the moment.

I'll give it another week and if its not fixed its going in the bin and try a different manufacturer.

I managed to restore syncing between my Charge 6 and the phone by restarting both devices at the same time. I do not know whether I was just lucky or whether it does the trick.  Anyone else willing to give it a try?

Hello @iwhitman2055 & @mikeemonkey

I've seen several Charge 5, Charge 6, and Inspire users reporting that they aren't able to sync with their Fitbit apps. It seems that the problem started around the same time that they updated the Fitbit app to version 4.28.

I submitted an inquiry about the problem and will report back if I learn of any updates.

Had the same problem starting Oct 24 suddenly my inspire 3 wouldn't sync with my Android phone.  Tried all suggested fixes, finally gave up and tried to pair a new Charge 6, nothing, wouldn't pair.  Read in another thread that it was the update to 4.28 and suggestion was to download the older version 4.26.  Did that and voila the inspire 3 is working.  What's amazing is Google seems unable or unwilling to fix.  So strange. Anyone have any idea why that would be.  They are so silent, no moderators chiming in to say what remedies may be in the works or anything.  Is Google about to go under? Stranger things have happened.

Hello @phen

There have been Moderator posts on this issue, but these are buried in threads in the various product help forums.

There's a new update rolling out for the Android app, version 4.28.1. Some users report that this update fixed their sync issue. However, the update isn't working for many other users.

So, ReikoC, why are they so unable to fix the problem, and if that is the case why not just send out a reversal to the 4.26 version which theoretically they should be able to do if they are able to update at will. Google is supposedly one of our premier tech companies, however if you read any of these threads they are miserably failing to support one of their own company's product. The ineptitude is laughable in a sick and cynical sort of way.  Not only are they unable to make the product work, they are like invisible elves unavailable to help anyone who has bought and paid for their product.  They ought to fail if that isn't what is already happening.

How do you download 4.26? When I go to the Google Play Store, I see no
choice of versions.

I searched and found it available on up tod own.com, but I'm afraid to install an app from a source I don't know.

I had to add spaces into the domain name because the forum didn't allow it otherwise

I tried 4.28.1

It did not work.

I'm told through chat support to wait for 4.29.1

Best Answer

@iwhitman2055 So chat support told you that 4.29.1 should fix things?  That's interesting, because there should be a 4.29 before there is a 4.29.1.  So, they already know that their next update isn't going to fix things and that we need to wait for the one after????  This debacle has been going on for two months now.  I have to agree with @phen that the ineptitude is shocking, and transparency is sorely lacking.  I am still holding out hope that my legacy One will eventually play nicely with the app again, but if it doesn't, I won't be buying another Fitbit/Google tracker.

How can I find older version to try?

I found it on up to down (no spaces) which is an app store.  I checked it out on reddit which says it is legit, but there are lots of ads and I found it a little confusing.  Then chrome didn't want me to download the app which you have to do to access the apps they have for android.  It was scary, but I did it because I was so frustrated with my nonworking fitbits.  I still don't understand why it is taking google so long to fix this.

I am going crazy too.  I bought a new fit bit to replace what fit bit told me was broken.  I am calling every day about the android issue and fitbit, paying a premium membership for nothing.  My husband has an Samsung android and an Inspire2, I have a luxe, his is working.  Mine isnt.  Sick of fit bit not recognising either fitbit.

My husbands Inspire3 is working, he has an android phone.  I am really fed up without knowing when it may be sorted.
