Thanks for the reply indeed.
The article he links to doesn't work (probably with Android 9), but I found a solution. As I said, the notification doesn't respect the minimizing from the notification options, but if you press the information icon when having dragged the notification itself you can uncheck the Sync notification alone. Voila, it's gone.
Seems like they can't fix one thing without breaking another...
