Hey, Android Community!
I've noticed that some of you on Android 6.0 or above have experienced issues with syncing. A huge factor in improving your syncing experience with the Fitbit app for Android has to do with your permissions and location services settings. Let me clarify those two a bit below.
Permissions The Fitbit app for Android must have location permissions to scan for Bluetooth devices, which is a requirement to complete a successful sync on Android 6.0+.
In order to give permission to the app, go to the following:

Location The Location permission is required in Android v6.0+ in order to perform BLE scans. Google added this requirement due to concerns that BLE beacons could be used to infer user location via Bluetooth alone.
"Fitbit does not record your location when you are not in an active GPS exercise session. We only use this permission to perform BLE scans in order to sync with your tracker.”
