Syncing issues occur from time to time, often without any obvious cause. Certainly your android version won't be the problem here.
I would try restarting your phone and then restarting your fitbit using this procedure:

Give this a few tries as it doesn't always work. You might also try forgetting the fitbit in your phone's bluetooth settings. If it still won't sync after that then there are some more ideas to try in this help file: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1866/

I will definitely check into these options. Also it's the versa. Not sure if that makes much difference. And wondering why I'm not able to perform the app update. Still running on 2.75 without the option to update. Thank you for your response.
Best AnswerI had about 25 pending updates and let my phone take care of them as I slept. When I woke.. The Fitbit update was finally there!!! (:
I did what you suggested and let my Bluetooth forget the versa. Upon repairing all seems to be back in order. Fingers crossed and alleviated. Thank you.
