I've had a fantastic stepping day today, how's everyone doing? 😀
Psyched to show off in my weekly hustle challenges I went to sync after a run but low and behold, my Ionic isn't showing in my devices. It shows other trackers; blaze with a low battery and a few others I've not used in a minute. The obvious first step to me would be to try and add the tracker back to my app, which brings me to my question, is there some way to do this without losing steps? 🤔
I'm not posting this in the Ionic forum as it's specifically an issue between the app and the tracker. Whenever we set up new trackers we don't keep the steps before that moment in time, so I wonder if there's a setting in cases like this where someone may want to do so.
I'd hope to also recover my sleep data, which would've been on it too.

First, wondering about "other trackers" connected to same account. Were any just added? Said haven't used "in a minute", maybe meant in a month? Blaze is okay as can co-exist with newer trackers. But wondering if you added a newer tracker that cannot co-exist with Ionic, and asked if okay to get rid of Ionic when added it.
When was lat time you looked at app and saw the Ionic? If that was a long time ago, can't you just sync with whatever tracker it now considers your primary one and see results there. And if these are in the same account, data is accumulating the your account without regard to which tracker it came from. Or are you concerned about seeing day's results split up right now before being combined when get past midnight?

The Ionic is my primary tracker for the past several months. No trackers have been added to my account recently. I've also got a Blaze I'd mentioned and a few others, and I've just removed the Surge and will remove some others just to minimize variables. Prior to today, all of these played nicely together, except between Ionic and Versa, and it's been around 5+ months since syncing, removing the Versa, and re-installing the Ionic.
I last saw my Ionic yesterday around 2 pm, it had my previous night's sleep and I just don't check the tracker all the time, I like to depend on it tracking and don't have my phone constantly syncing to save battery. I did attempt yesterday to add a Charge2 that I was curious if it still worked, but (1) it didn't successfully see it, (2) it never prompted me to remove the Ionic, and (3) it shouldn't have anyways, as it's not an app-based tracker.
I'll definitely be checking my syncs more frequently. It's been years since losing steps, when it happened 4 years ago it was because my cat had knocked around a tracker while I was out and about, and in cases of multiple trackers with steps, Fitbit will override with the smaller # from what they'd explained, and that's not what's happening in this case as (1) the blaze is out of the cat's reach and (2) the Ionic has simply vanished.
Specifically, I'm hoping to preserve today's steps and last night's sleep data when attempting to [hopefully] re-add it back to my account. Pardon my verbosity, I figured that more is better than less if you've got suggestions. Thanks! 🙂
Maybe it's time to revisit my Versa 🙂 Cheers.

I guess I misunderstood. I was thinking that you were wearing the Blaze and maybe others, in addition to the Ionic, so you could just sync from them, but now I'm thinking the Ionic is all you have been wearing.
I wonder how the Ionic could have disappeared, and if you haven't tried it yet, I suggest restarting the Ionic and rebooting your phone to see if that brings it back. If those don't help, all I can think is to mess with phone's bluetooth (which I usually would never suggest) and see if you can relink that and if that brings it back. If none of them help, I can't think of anything other than just adding it back.
Also just thought, make sure phone is not in airplane mode or has bluetooth turned off, but I would think they would just prevent syncing, not make Ionic disappear.
Good luck, that's all I got.

I've been primarily wearing the Ionic this year, supplemented occasionally with my Blaze or Surge. I'd restarted the Ionic, phone, tablet, and PC prior to posting. When issues arose, I'd independently (while shutting down other devices) attempted to add individually from 3 platforms (Fire Tablet, Android Phone, Windows10 PC) with the same issue with multiple trackers, this is why I've determined it an app issue, but open to being corrected if I missed something.
I'd turned off Bluetooth on each device prior to adding as this has resolved 90% of Bluetooth issues for me previously, but this didn't help either. It's not in airplane mode or the Blaze wouldn't be syncing. I'm unable to add my existing devices to Fitbit, however, devices already added that didn't *mysteriously-vanish* are still functioning and syncing. I'm unable at the present time to re-add my Ionic or Versa back to the app.
I'd attempted to add a brand new Versa to my account yesterday and it's working fine. I'll attempt a brand new Ionic later today. It's bizarre that (1) the Ionic just disappeared from Fitbit and (2) that multiple known good devices suddenly aren't recognized by Fitbit. I may try re-adding the previous devices now that a new device worked, or creating a separate account to see if it's isolated to my primary (currently only) account. For now, just happy to be logging/syncing something.
