App Draining Phone Battery

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have an LG G6 and have only owned my Fitbit Versa since Christmas. I've noticed that my phone's battery is absolutely terrible now since installing the app. I'll clear all my apps out, and my battery life still stinks. I can't even use my Android Auto app in my car without it using up to 10 percent in a drive and getting warm!

My phone says that the Fitbit app is using about 6% of the system's power, which is as high as the amount used being idle. Is anyone else having this issue? Anyone know any tricks? I called Fitbit up, and they just told me to get ny phone looked at, but I KNOW it's their app.

Welcome to the Forums @Sammy_LeDerp.

Thanks for bringing this up! Let me help you figure out what is going on.

The first thing I'd like to do is to ask some questions:

  • What app version are you running for it?
  • Do you keep your Bluetooth turned on at all times?
  • Did you turn the All-Day Sync and Always Connection option on?

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Hello,

I have the latest version that updated the other day! And yes, I have
Bluetooth turned on and all of those options turned on. But I also have my
phone off for most of the day because I teach, but I feel like it's just
being drained so much!

Hello @Sammy_LeDerp.

I apologize for the delay in my response. Thanks for getting back to me with that information.

My suggestion in that case would be to try to keep the Bluetooth off on your phone as to avoid the phone and the Fitbit from syncing on their own and as such should improve the battery life of the phone. That way you can only turn the Bluetooth on when you want to have them sync and check your information on the phone.

Let me know if there is anything else that I can help you with.

I have the same problem after switching to a Charge 3 and upgrading to the latest Android app.  Battery usgae is 30.2%  for the Fitbit app. Restarting doesn't help. Tried reinstalling twice. Turning off Bluetooth is not an appropriate recommendation, nor is turning off all day sync. Both features worked without problem for 2 years with my charge 2.  Furthermore I need to use Bluetooth throughout the day, and don't want to have to remember to sync (enhance the app to schedule this perhaps?).  Please advise when this will be solved.
