App and Alta not communicating properly

Last week my Alta was not syncing with my app properly and I missed whole days off tracking without realizing it. Today my Alta shows 6900 steps, which seems right, but the app is showing over 10,000 . How is that even possible?

Welcome to the Forums @lwdnort.

 

The difference in steps could be explained by manually logged activities. If you logged a walk or run manually then it could've updated the number of steps on the Dashboard.

 

For the syncing issues, I'd recommend that you try to follow these steps in order. They should definitely help in getting your Fitbit to sync normally once again.
