App changing from metric to imperial by itself when syncing with Aria Air

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

A while back i purchased an Aria Air, that i use every day to log my weight.

I have the units in my Fitbit app to Metric (kg), but often (not always) the app will change the weight units to imperial (lb) by itself as the app is receiving the weight from the Aria Air.

How it happens is that i will open the app, then step on the Aria Air to turn it on.

I make sure the Aria Air shows that it is connected to the phone and i step onto the Aria Air.

When the Aria Air finishes messuring, the "save weight" screen pops up with my previous registered weight in kg, but then it will change to the new registered weight and as it does it also changes from kg to lb.

The Aria Air doesn't change from kg to lb, and no other units in the app changes, it is just the weight unit.

It doesn't happen every time, but i'd say it happens probably 1-2 times a week.

This isn't a new thing and has happened since i bought the Aria Air back in late may / early june.

Welcome, @Fatalicus! It's great to see you around.

Thanks for all the details provided. Have you checked if the app is switching itself from kg to lb when you don't use the scale? You can try the following if the app keeps switching the weight units:

1. On your phone's Settings tap on Apps.

2. Tap on Fitbit.

3. Tap on Storage and clear cache.

4. Select Force Stop.

5. Open the Fitbit app and try again syncing your Aria Air.

Hope this helps.

Hi @BraulioFitbit !

In regards if it changes when not using the scale, before I got the Aria Air i did register weight manualy for a while, and it did not change then.

But i will try to clear cache and then test for a few days if it happens again.

Cheers!

Unfortunatly, clearing cache did not help.

It still changed weight unit when registering with the Aria Air.

@BraulioFitbit: I've had a few days to test after clearing cache and such, and unfortunatly it has not solved this.

It seemed for a bit as if it had the opposite effect, as the first 4 days the app changed, instead of just a couple of time a week, but this morning it did not change, so it seems it is still the same.

This has been happening for years. You can say you live in Germany, set the scale to kg and set the app to kg, and it will still repeatedly switch the app back to imperial. it's maddening.

Yupp, still an ongoing problem.

It seems as if it has gotten a bit better lately (not happening as often), but it still happens. As recent as this morning in my case, where it changed to imperial after using the Air.

@BraulioFitbitAny news on this problem?
