Whenever I attempt to add exercise manually, the app crashes. More specifically, it crashes when I attempt to enter.the distance. I've restarted my device and cleared the cache, but the problem continues to occur.
I'm at.the point that I feel the only fix is to delete the app and reinstall, but I'm hesitant to do so.

Hi there @korieann, good to see you around. Let me start by giving you a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community!
Make sure to have the latest version of the app:
To see what version of the Fitbit app is installed on your device:
I have the same issue with a tablet and this is what I do. I Hope it works for you so please log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings. Access to the App manager option and look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list. Once you are there, clear the app cache one more time and data and proceed to "Force Stop" the app. Finish the workaround by restarting your phone. When your phone has initialized, go back to your app and try again.
If this is not working, please sync your tracker and proceed to uninstall and reinstall the app.
Keep me posted how t goes. See you later.

Hi! I have the same problem, and tried everything exactly the way you describe, including reinstalling the app, but problem remains. I've sent dozens of crashreports via google, it is really annoying...

Hello @SunsetRunner, thank you for visiting the Fitbit Community, my apologies for the late response. Recently was released a new version of the Fitbit app for Android, which I would recommend to review if the app is available for you.
Also make sure your phone is listed as compatible in our list of compatible devices, usually this behavior happen when the OS of the is outdated or the phone is not listed as compatible the reason of this is because the app is not optimized to run with a not compatible device.
To see the latest list of supported devices, please go to http://www.fitbit.com/devices
Hope this helps. See you later.

Hi there @SunsetRunner! My apologies for the late response and thank you for letting me know additional details.
I'm wondering if after you updated the app to version 2.66 did you tried to reset the app again as I mentioned before in my previous post? Also I have to ask how it goes so far? Is the issue still persisting?
If it does make sure the app is installed in the internal storage of your phone. I got this issue recently, not exactly with the Fitbit app though, but some other apps stored in the external storage were crashing constantly until I moved them to the internal root of the phone. This can be managed from the App manager settings of your phone.
Also this is a common caused that I would like to leave here just for informational purposes, but if the phone is full of apps or the Firmware of the device is outdated it may present this crashes.
Nonetheless rest assure I will pass your feedback to our teams. See you later!

Hello there @SunsetRunner, I just saw your post and I'm sorry for seeing this until now. Is the app still crashing? Can you let me know how the app is crashing? Is this happening in a section of the Fitbit app specifically? If so, let me know which one?
I haven't seen other similar reports regarding the Fitbit app in Samsung Galaxy S7, so I'm wondering if the OS of your phone is running the most updated version available from the phone manufacturer?
See you later. I'll be looking forward to your response.

Now, this is what I recently realized:
The only time I need to manually log an exercise, is when I ride my bike to work, and I can't be bothered with all the sync/connection stuff (a whole other story). Sometimes, but not always, Fitbit actually notice this exercise (even though I don't connect with GPS and heartrate is off?) and track it as "Outdoor Bike". So, when it doesn't do it automatically I try to log it myself, which made my app crash. Here's the thing: It only crashes when I try to log it in the category Outdoor Bike, whereas if I log any other activity (bike, walk, run etc.) manually, it doesn't crash... The peculiar thing is, that fitbit uses this category itself in the app, but I cannot actually find this category trying to type it in the database (web), so I guess that's the problem. Thanks, for hanging in there!

KaMa,
I have had this problem of "outdoor bike" crashing when I tried to enter the miles ridden. I saw your post and only used Bike and my ride logs enter properly. I make sure to manually start my fitness tracker when starting the ride and it properly records the heartrate and time.
Thanks for your patience,
John

I'm having this issue with my galaxy S7 as well. Everything is up to date. Can't edit exercises that are started manually from the Versa (i.e. running distance on GPS or treadmill since both are always wrong) because there's no pencil icon and if I select the exercise as just "workout" and try to edit, the app just crashes.
