Hello, I just downloaded the Fitbit app and it crashes in the two places mentioned above. I've loaded it on3 different phones. It worked a year ago when I borrowed a fit bit. Is anyone aware of the problem with the fitbit app and if so, is there an ETA? I need this for tomorrow morning and I can't set it up. Thanks.

@NEK01, you don't say which phone you are running the app on. Is your phone compatible with the Fitbit tracker? I am running Android app version 2.49, and it has never crashed since I installed it. Did you shut down your phone and restart it after installing the the app?

Hi and Thank you for your response!
Yes, these are new APP installs and the app worked last summer when I borrowed a fitbit. The Phones are on the list for sure (HTC M8, M9, New Droid-Z). I called the toll free number and verified this.
I also have attempted to uninstall a couple of times as well as clear the cache.
When I Called in, they indicated that they were aware of the problem. However, I saw the announcement 15 days ago which makes me think because it's not happening to everyone, that it may not be urgently worked on.
My Fitbit just arrived and even with 3 phones, I am unable to set it up for an event tomorrow.
My feeling is that something is missed here esp. that it worked on all three phones last summer.
Thanks!

@NEK01, I am running the app on a HTC One M9 with Android 7.0, and it has not had any problems.
There have been a lot of different versions since last summer.

@NEK01 I recommend trying out the suggestions in this thread. Let me know if that helps.

Thank you for the link. I called earlier in the day to Fitbit Customer support. They had me try the same thing. After reading your reply, I went and tried the same thing on all three phones just to be absolutely sure.
Unfortunately I'm still getting the APP has crashed at any logon point.
I will not be able to use the fitbit for the event this morning that I had purchased it for.
I'm afraid I put 2.5 hours in to trying to resolve this and a couple of calls to Fitbit themselves. I'm afraid I'm going to return the one that just showed up.
Thank you for all your replies.

Hello there, @NEK01! Thanks for the updates and It's unfortunate to hear about your situation. It is very weird that your App is crashing even after trying all troubleshooting steps and using compatible devices.
I'm sorry to hear about the event you missed and thank you for your patience and understanding.
See you around.
