I have a Droid Turbo 1. Every time I try to set up notifications, the app crashes and throws and error message. I have Android version 5.1. I have tried all the troubleshooting steps recommended with no luck. I think there is a bug that needs to be fixed.
Thanks!

I have been facing the same issue since I bought fitbit blaze couple of weeks back. Then for a different reason I downloaded 'Microsoft Outlook' app couple of days back. Today when I tried again to setup the notification it worked!!
It seems that for email notifications, Fitbit supports only few clients. Before downloading Outlook I did not have any email app on my phone which is supported by Fitbit and hence it crashed every time.
Solution:
Download Microsoft Outlook app on your phone (you don't have to setup any account in outlook only having the app will suffice) and then try to set your notifications and it will work. Incase you dont want to keep the outlook app on your phone after verifying that the notifications are working fine, you can go to Notifications tab on Fitbit app, disable 'email notification' first and then uninstall the Outlook app. Once you disable 'email notifications' it will not matter whether you have any email app. The notifications will work seamless after this.
Let me know if it works!
