App interferes with other Bluetooth Device

Every time I try to access another bluetooth device I have uninstall the fitbit app from my phone. Every bloody time!

I assume it's trying to sync constantly and therefore the bluetooth can't see the other device. Is there a setting somewhere that I can have the fitbit sync when I open the app? Or when I'm on my home wireless connection?
