I’ve had the exact same problem since the app updated in March!!!!!! I didn’t change my password but that is the error I keep getting. I reached out to Fitbit support and advised that I no longer have access to the email address on my account. I told the gentleman that I could logon online using my Facebook account because I linked my Fitbit to Facebook but I was told to create a brand new account!!!!!!!
I’ve had my account since 2014 and this Fitbit rep tells me that I’ll loose all data because I cannot access an old email! I am so disappointed...so I’m researching the Apple Watch now. I figured, if I’m going to start all over, I might as well do it with a company whose support staff is reliable!

Same experience as a previous poster. If you cannot log into the fitbit app on your phone, and you have a VPN on your phone (which you should!), temporarily turn your VPN off and try again. Worked for me.

I have the same problem ans i realized that fitbit has blocked my wifi IP. Even id i try to access the website i get that my IP is blocked.
So i can only use my cell network to synq .. not sure if there is a process to whitelist my IP which is dynamic and keeps changing ...

I am guessing this is the heart of the issue. Either a VPN or web proxy for their WiFi is creating issues.
