App wont let me find friends

Hoping for help - when I go on to find friends it doesn't show me any contacts that have fitbit in my phone book (I have checked with them). The app also shows me no fb friends who have fitbit I can add and when I search nothing comes up. Even when I try to add by username/email I get an error message to tell me friends can't be added at this time. Hoping for help - v. Lonely fitbit user at the moment and I'm really not feeling the benefit!

I've searched the forum and followed everything I've found here and nothing has helped.

@Natashalmc Welcome to the Fitbit Community. Thanks for the details mentioned. 

I appreciate the troubleshooting performed and the research done prior to posting. Note that friends will appear only if they used the same email address to pair their Fitbit trackers/watches. 

Since you're getting an error message when trying to add friends, please do the following: 

- Log out from the Fitbit app 

- Clear the app cache 

- Restart your phone 

- Log back in
