I received a message that I could update my dashboard and update the app. I did that....total disaster since the update. Doesn't recognize my treadmill workouts, doesn't update the dashboard, doesn't recognize the device, etc. I find myself restarting my phone and placing my Fitbit Charge 3 in the charger at least once a day. At this point, it is a really convenient watch and INCONVENIENT fitness device. Please tell me that a patch is coming out soon.

I am having similar problems with my charge 2. It actually deletes exercise. For example yesterday it deleted 7600 steps.. WTH?
Also it constantly tells me it is 46% only charged.. After 5 hrs on the charger... I can see its 100 percent. I hate this update

If your Fitbit is syncing just fine, don't update your app, updating is the number 1 cause of syncing problems. Read through the forums a bit and see for yourselves 😉

If you can find a copy of an older version you could manually install that instead.
The problem is finding a safe copy: downloading apps from random sites is a good way of getting a malware infection. There are safe sites, but I can't post the name because the forum software blocks it, which tells you that Fitbit do not want you to do this (corporations rarely do). But it is possible, so if the current version is broken for you you do not have to just put up with it.
(I can't tell you whether the current version is broken for me because I've not updated to it myself).

@HillBill On the main "today" tab of the dashboard, select your profile image at the top left of the screen, then select your fitbit. You will then be on the device settings where you'll find the alarms.

I'm having those same issues on my versa. It only syncs occasionally and when it does, nothing is logged properly. It's missing workouts and steps per hour among other things.

I know it's there, but it's such a work around. It used to be on the main screen with the plus symbol same place you started tracking exercise. So inconvenient now.

Previously I was allowed to skip this update but tried to open the app today + don't see any way to get in without installing it. Is there any way to avoid this update?

Is Fitbit listening? These kinds of issues are happening across multiple of their devices. Users of the Fitbit One and Zip are constantly complaining about losing connection, having to restart their devices to regain connections.
App one day tells how many minutes of restless sleep, other days shows 0 minutes but graph clearly shows restless minutes.
It's getting old

My problem started before this update and is still happening. Although the august update helped with my syncing issues I'm not losing time between sync's and my Ionic only sync's with my phone some of the time. Even though i have always sync on. They just put it down to a syncing issue with Android 9 phones. Not very helpful if I don't know if its the right time or not.

Yes it is very annoying. I've called Fitbit 2X in the last two days, and l) got two different stories, 2) was told my fitbit is synching just fine, and 3) there is a problem with my particular android and "they are working on it." I am a loyal fitbit user - however, it's been such a pain since the update that I'm thinking maybe it's time to change.

I went to the app store and downloaded the latest update yesterday. I had to restart once again, but no issues since. Hoping this issue is finally fixed.

My versa was paired to Nokia 6 on the app.and would sync occasionally but is now not there and I can't actually pair it at all so nothing being logged x
