Auto sync not working, need to manually open app and trigger the sync

Before app upgrade auto sync was working perfectly fine, it was rarely I opened the app.
Now it looks like we need to manually open the app and trigger the sync

Not sure who was the BA thinking about getting rid of this feature

we investigated in the device so we don't end up in manually activity

Where is Google / Fitbit is heading towards

My app still syncs without having to open the app.

Do you have Optimize battery usage enabled for the Fitbit app in device settings?
