BUG - Notifications on muted chats

I am using FitBit to notify me on new whatsapp messages. There is a group chat with much activity which I have muted from the whatsapp app so I don't get notifications for it. The fitbit (charge 2) however does notify me for each and every message on this muted chat.

Please fix this bug as currently I am forced to either exit the group chat or disable notifications on the fitbit charge 2.

@estoev, it would seem the bug is in Whatsapp not in the Charge 2. The Charge 2 only responds to notifications it receives. If Whatsapp does not send it notifications, it won't respond to them.

Larry, it would seem that this is not the case. I do not receive notifications in the Whatsapp app and my phone doesn't make any sounds for those chats. In other words - the Whatsapp app works fine and as expected. What doesn't work as expected is the Fitbit Charge 2 which does notify me for the muted chats.

@estoev, where is the Charge 2 getting the notifications from if the phone isn't sending them to it?  Because the phone is "muted" does not mean it is not sending electronic signals over the Bluetooth as it is designed to do. The Charge 2 is doing what it is designed to do - notifying you of Notifications it is receiving.

I'm pretty sure Whatsapp isn't "sending electronic signals over the Bluetooth". And the problem isn't in the Charge 2 but in the Fitbit app.

What I see is that both the Fitbit app and the Android wear app use the android accesibility service to detect the notifications. And there is a difference between notification with sound and notification without sound (muted) because the Android wear app is working correctly for muted chats and I don't get those on my smartwatch.

If the Whatsapp chat is muted notifications do not appear for those chats in android. The problem here is most likely how Fitbit app is interpreting muted chats.

It will be a Fitbit app problem.

Hello Same issues with Alta HR. group chat muted, phone will not notifiy. but fitbit still buzzing like CRAZY. can this be resolved?

I have the same problem. This is so annoying and Fit bit should not release such a sub-standard product on the market.

Apart from whatsapp muted notification,  my fitbit keeps notifying when my phone is in do not disturb mode. So many times I have to disconnect my Bluetooth in the middle of night
