Battery drain with latest Fitbit download

Latest download is draining battery more on my android device than before download.

Hello @SunsetRunner, let me give you a warm welcome to the Fitbit Community! Are you using Always Connected option in your tracker settings to improve the Bluetooth connection with your phone?

 

Note that turning on this feature may cause the battery on your tracker to drain more quickly than normal. Also if you are using your tracker along with the GPS of your phone the battery might drain more faster.

 

Also let me know which phone are you using, there are reports with Galaxy S8 is being affected by battery drain after the update: Battery drain/Notifications - Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+.

Same here. Since last update the app drains the battery.

All day sync had been always on. Turned that off now. No result.Still the main battery drainage.

This is on a s7.

Please fix this.

Same here.   Prior to the update I could go a week before needing a charge, now it's every 2 days.  Started the same day I updated.   All day sync has always been off before and after the update.

BTW:   I went into battery management and it showed battery usage of 50% from Fitbit, even though I have auto-sync turned off, so I clicked force stop on the app and for the last 24 hours my battery usage on my Fitbit and phone have returned to normal.

I'm having the same problem. My Nexus 5x battery life has been draining quicker than usual and the Fitbit app was near the top battery usage even though I have all-day sync disabled, the phone was idle most of the time and didn't even open the app for the day. I blocked Fitbit notification on the android side and my battery is doing much better. This is of course not the best solution if you want to use some Fitbit features. My phone battery now lasts at least a day now (18-20+ hrs) as opposed to like 10-12 hours with this app issue.
