Blaze stopped syncing with Moto X4

My Moto X4 Android One phone stopped syncing with my Blaze immediately after updating the phone to Android 8.1.  After trying every solution I could find on the forum, I stumbled upon one that worked. That involved going to the Settings -> System -> Reset Options -> Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth.  It immediately was able to find the Blaze and enter pairing mode (phone supplies a PIN; Blaze waits for PIN). The downside is that all Wi-Fi and Bluetooth information was lost.

Hi there @Decker8, great to see new members in the Fitbit Community! My apologies for the late response. I was reading your post and thank you for sharing the steps you have follow to correct the issue you started experiencing after updating to the new Android OS.

Since the set up process is only through the Fitbit app, meaning your data is store in our servers, should not be any loss that is not outside the Fitbit app. Now as you mentioned, from your phone's end; some stored data will be erase due to the reset. However is interesting to see this help you to address the syncing troubles you were experiencing.

Also, this is a behavior that might be present with some mobile phones that are not fully compatible. In this particular scenario the Moto X4 hasn't been listed yet as compatible. As you have seen on your own, this is not an statement the your tracker or the app won't work. Is just that is prone this unexpected behaviors are more frequent. For more information, please refer to our public article: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?

See you later and let me know if you have other questions or you need more help.

Thank you so much for these instructions! They worked for me.  I was so disappointed when I read that the Moto X4 was not on the compatible list, but you figured it out.  You really made my day!
