Blaze won't sync with OnePlus One phone

Good morning,

I'm using a Blaze and my phone is a OnePlus One running Android 6.0.1. Syncing has always seemed inconsistent, which is frustrating because that keeps the notification feature from working properly.

This is most frustrating due in part to some of the activities I did this weekend on 06/04. High step count and 20 flights of stairs that afternoon. But the devices haven't synced since earlier that morning, and still won't sync. I had to lose all that from the app.

I've deleted and reinstalled the software, restarted the Fitbit, restarted Bluetooth, and rebooted the phone, all numerous times without any change. Still no joy.

What should I do next? This makes it hard to continue wanting to use the device.

I'm starting to think that the Bluetooth on either the phone or the Blaze is weak. It will work if they're sitting right next to each other, but not if the device is on my arm.

Hello @Billiam1974

I see a lot of people posting about syncing problems. The most common solution that seems to work is restarting the blaze. You can do this by: holding down the left button and the bottom-right button together.

Hope that helps.

I just got a fitbit blaze and also have a OnePlus One.

I have the same problem but I feel that it's the fitbit, not the phone.  I also have Garmin fitness trackers and they are 100% reliable/accurate/fast.  The Bluetooth on the OnePlus One is solid.

As mentioned in this thread a lot of people are having sync issues specifically with the blaze.  Hopefully they fix this in a firmware update.  I don't like having to go into debug/diagnostic mode to try and get my data off the blaze.  It should be simple 😞

Resetting the blaze and keeping it in close proximirty to the phone (12 inches/30cm) seems to work most of the time.

Update:

The android fitbit app version 2.39 released December 14/15 2016 appears to has mostly resolved sync issues for me.

Settings:

1) Always Connected is OFF

2) All-Day Sync is OFF

I can now perform on-demand syncs 9/10 times.  The one time it failed I had to restart bluetooth but it worked without too much issue.

I no longer need to reboot my blaze or phone... or try and re-pair my devices.  It's not perfect but significantly improved!

Update:

I'm still on the same software revisions noted above.  However, after a reboot sync has broken.

I can no longer sync even after rebooting my phone and blaze.  I have also tried the other trouble shooting tips in the (many) other sync issue forum posts.

I've reinstalled the fitbit app and I can do the initial pairing but it will never sync beyond that.

Returned my Blaze today.

Not worth the trouble trying to get it to work.  This is obviously a problem not limited to the OnePlus One based on the numerous sync forms.

I also have a One Plus One and having the same problem. Sync very seldom works, and notifications never worked.
I have followed all the procedures illustrated in https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1866 but it does not work.
It is impossible to use it properly with these problems...
