Bought a new Fitbit, advice needed

Hi, my old Fitbit had stopped recording my heart rate and sleep due to too much exposure to water, it wasn’t waterproof.  I bought a new one that arrived today.  How do I tell my Fitbit app on my android phone that I have a new, different Fitbit or do I not have to?  I want to delete the old one if possible and if I need to.  Thanks in advance

Hi @shortyshort

Sync the old device for the last time and remove it from your account. Move it out of range from the new one you're setting up. Follow the directions - click - for adding a replacement Fitbit.

Which new Fitbit style did you get? Exciting times!

Thanks Odyssey, I followed your instructions and it worked perfectly.  I did have a Blaze, I now have a Versa.  I need the large screen so I can see the time without my glasses and I needed something waterproof as it was water killed my Blaze.  Time to get fit now!

Hi, thought I would post an update regarding my Versa.  Exactly 6 month old, after two weeks of swimming daily it broke.  The screen died.  It still synced and I could then see my step count but I could not log swimming as an exercise.  To their credit, Fitbit immediately agreed to send me a replacement  Versa and it is on its way but I am now wary of using it to log my daily swims as I am sure this is what killed it.  Any thoughts?  I have been looking at the Charge 3 and it seems to have decent reviews, anyone any advice on how good it is at being waterproof and recording swimming?

Many thanks in advance.
