@Amandajr, the Fitbit tracker does not calculate altitude to estimate calorie burn. It uses your activity level, heart rate, and your profile information to estimate the calorie burn rate. Some of the trackers, such as the Charge HR and Charge 2, use an altimeter to count floors climbed (each 10' increase in elevation is 1 floor), though.
