Calorie tracker too high

So admittedly I've only been using the Charge 5 for a about two days but there's no way ive burned this many calories. Im around 230 pounds, 5'7 and I'm 20 and fitbit tracked my BMR to be 2,015 calories burned. Taking that and subtracting the amount of calories I burned total today, it said i burned 990 calories and there's no way I did that. I didn't walk nearly as far as I would on normal days. My steps are also higher than usual. Fitbit says I walked 1,000 steps more than my phone did and I haven't left my phone anywhere while walking.

Is there some way to fix this cause I really wanted to use fitbit to track my exercises when I can use my phone to track calories burned.

Try looking at it like this.  That's 1 calorie per minute above BMR while you were out of bed.  Anytime you are awake and out of bed, you are burning calories above your BMR.  Just sitting or standing burns calories above your BMR; it's not like you are either at BMR or working out.  You can look at your calorie burned chart for the day and see your numbers in 15 minute increments.  Or look at you heart rate chart for the day.  Any time your heart rate is higher during the day than during your sleep time, you are burning more than your BMR calories.  How much more?  I don't know exactly, but I trust the number Fitbit tells me.  If you have some other number your prefer to trust, that's your choice.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

While I get that and I am factoring BMR into this, there's no way I burned 900 calories in one day from not doing nearly as much walking as I normally do. If I followed that measurement along with my calorie deficit I would be able to eat way more than I normally am allowed and there's simply no way I could do that without gaining weight. I know my Charge 5 is overestimating my calories burned I just don't know how to fix it.

I have the same problem. I've been using Samsung Watch 4 for the past year and Google fit and the amount of calories burned through them is half of what Fitbit charge 5 is claiming. I'm getting a bit discouraged using it since I only got charge 5 a week ago but it's really frustrating.
