Calories burned in app much higher than on watch, updating retroactively

App version: 4.24 (Android)
Device: Pixel 9 Pro XL
Watch: Pixel Watch 2

Beginning yesterday (Sep 2) I noticed a discrepancy between the number of calories burned shown on the watch and the number of calories burned in the app. About 400cal or so. I thought the problem would solve itself once a new day begins, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Today my watch is showing at this time 2,882cal, while the app is at 3,282cal (both values current and refreshed).

Under Energy burned I started looking back at the previous days, as well as the previous weeks, and as I moved through each day, the calorie count was revised upwards on each day / week I scrolled through by quite a lot (so calories per day went up, averages per week went up as well). I switched to the month view, and it did the same when I went back a few months more. Now I'm afraid I've destroyed several months worth of calorie data.

I'm seeing other people report similar calorie burn issues. What's happening?

Edit: I have tried clearing storage / cache on the app, basically starting afresh (logging back into my account and all). This has not fixed the issue, and historical data is still affected. I would have liked to compare data from the app to the dashboard on the website, but I was unpleasantly surprised to realize you have further enhanced my premium experience by removing it. Just great..

Same issue, Pixel Watch 3, Pixel 7 phone.  My watch shows more calories burned than the Fitbit App, been happening a for a few weeks now.  It is in that 1.13 to 1.14 multiple range.
