Calories burned seems the same every day

Hi

I got a charge 3 last week and have synched it to the app.  I am trying to lose weight so have been monitoring my calories.

I seem to be expending just under 1500 a day.

What confuses me is the figure doesnr seem to change

Eg thursday i didnt wear my fitibit i burned 1480 calories

The next day I took nearly 10k steps while working but also seemed to use 1480 calories surely 4 miles of walking should have changed that number at least a little?

Thanks

It sounds like 1480 is you BMR (basal metabolic rate) calories that you burn every day just by being alive.  These are counted every day, even when you are not wearing the tracker.

But when you are wearing it, that number should definitely go up, even if not doing any real exercise.  Make sure you are looking at right day, though you must be if it is showing steps.

Are you seeing the calorie count on the tracker or on your phone app?

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

I was checking the phone app

However today I checked yesterdays again and it says I burned over 2000 calories.

Today Ive walked 3 miles at work but in my app im at 1200 calories burned with just 3 hours of the day left. This makes me think it only adds exercise calories at midnight or something?? As it was roughly the same number this time last night

Take a look at your tracker to see if the calories are updated there.  If so, try to force an update and see if that updates the calories on the phone app.

You also want to look at the Fitbit app to see when Fitbit says your last sync was.

Do you see steps recorded on the days in question?

The calories dont go up in real time. When I synch all my steps are there.

I checked it at 11pm each night befpre sleeping no calories added above bmr

Now when i check each day they are on there its as if they are added at midnight every night
