Based on the exercises, Fitbit calculates unrealisticly high figures. To give you an example I walked 90 mins this morning and my Fitbit is saying I burnt 2500 calories. Bear in mind it was only 11am in the morning so even if you include the basal metabolism, it is still so high. Is there a quick fix on this?

Probably not a quick enough fix that you are looking for, but there are ways to examine this:
1) Check your weight is entered correctly, or at least not way too heavy.
2) How many calories did it say you burned on the walk?
3) Look at the Fitbit.com dashboard Daily, Calories burned graph overnight to get an idea what Fitbit is using for your BMR rate.
4) See what BMR for 11 hours comes to. Add in what it says you burned on the walk. How close does that come to 2500?
