The new app is terrible because it doesn’t show how many calories I have left for the day after I work out and put in calorie count of my first meal. If there’s a way to rearrange tiles so I can see this then please let me know. Right now it says I am in my food Target even though I have fasted all morning. It should say that I have several hundred calories left but they do not appear to be documented anywhere on the app. Does this mean Fitbit thinks I should not be eating anything and is trying to starve me? Are you guys promoting anorexia?

I finally found the dynamic calorie estimate after trying a few things, so maybe this will help you. It doesn't show up on the new focus tile, even if you select food/calories as one of your 4 metrics for focus.
You can edit your Today page by clicking on the pencil icon in the top right corner. Scroll down to the Nutrition tile that has food and water listed and make sure food is turned on. You can use arrows to move it up toward the top if desired. Once I saved my edits the tile now shows the old dynamic calorie estimate in relatively tiny font just below the number of calories eaten. Here's a screenshot from the late morning that shows 818 calories left below target for the day. In contrast, the static metric you get if you click on the tile (2nd picture) shows only 3 calories left in the budget for the day.

I have mine set up like that but in the app I still only see calories in, no”calories below target.” Do you happen to have Premium? I wonder if maybe that is only a Premiym feature now— I let that go, it just didn’t offer me any benefit:

Hm, that's odd, rrung01. I do still have Premium from when I bought my newest Fitbit (Luxe), but I don't see any indication that it's a Premium-only feature.
I still have my old settings from prior to the update for the daily calorie deficit/target or whatever Fitbit calls that (i.e., I didn't have to change that or do anything else after the update). I kind of think that "calories below target" took a couple of days to show up on my Today page. I could swear it wasn't there when I first looked! Also, it was unstable at first, but for the last few days it's updating in real time.
