Calories left not match with iPhone

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

On the Android app, the number of calories remaining that is displayed on the dashboard is not the same as the number of calories remaining on the food log page.  Works fine on the iPhone app.  Seems to only be an issue with the Android app.

Also, the iPhone app suggests other foods that you often log together but this feature does not seem to exist on the Android app.  I miss this feature as it used to save me time when loggin my food.

Hi @Holypoker. Welcome to the Forums. I'm sorry for the delayed response.

Thanks for letting me know that the information displayed on the Android app doesn't match with iPhone, and let's work on this together. About the calories left, before anything else please make sure the Fitbit app in your Android device is updated to the latest version and try rebooting your phone. If the issue persists I'll need you to take a screenshot of what is displayed in the app and attach it in your reply so I can take a deeper look.

Now, in regards to the food log, currently those suggestions are available for iOS devices. I know how useful are those suggestions when logging similar food every day and I'm sure our team will take your feedback in mind when improving the Android Fitbit app. In fact, the best place to make your voice heard is the Feature Suggestions board, where you can submit your ideas, other members can vote for it and our developers can also take it into consideration for new updates or product development.

I'll be around, keep me posted.

Hi there, I updated the app and restarted my phone.  The calorie discrepency in the calories left is still there.  I am using a Google Pixel 3 phone.

Hi @Holypoker. Welcome back to the Forums. I'm sorry for the delayed response.

Thanks for trying the steps posted above, as well for the screenshots. I've confirmed that your Google Pixel 3 phone is compatible, so let's continue working on this. Before anything else, please know that the calorie burn estimate that is displayed in the Fitbit app takes into account your basal metabolic rate (BMR), the activity recorded by your tracker, and any activities you log manually. The BMR is the rate at which you burn calories at rest just to maintain vital body functions like breathing and the reason why you have calories even if you haven't gotten out of bed yet.

In addition let's say it's 6 pm, you've burned 2000 calories and eaten 1500 calories. You'd expect to see 500 left in the dashboard and food log screens, but that's not true as it's still missing 6 hours until midnight of consumption. That means the Fitbit app will show you at least 500 + the calories that you will consume until midnight. Now, with the screenshot you've shared, at 9:13 you've burned 1991 calories, taken BMR into account, and depending on the food plan selected, you're recommended to eat 342 calories to reach the goal of your food plan. However, since you'll still burn calories (BMR) for the rest of the day until midnight, you can still eat up to 440 calories.

I'll be around if you need anything else
