Can I change my name in my Fitbit profile?

When you first make a fitbit account you have to add your First Name and Last Name and this is whats used in your Profile (i.e. John D.)

Is there a way I can hide my real name and such and be able to create/join a group without using my IRL name? A few discord members have joined local gyms in their area, as have I, and we found out we all have Fitbits (of various kinds) and we kinda thought of making a group so we can see each others progress and such but none of us have pulled the trigger yet because of the Real Name usage.

Hi @Birphon  why not ask customer service if there is a way they can help you. I know from these forums that they have helped people who chose a name they didn't like or had misspelled. Might be worth it to contact them.

@Birphon I've moved your post to the Android App board so we can keep the forums organized. I understand your concern and thanks for taking the time to share this with us. Before getting in touch with our Support team, let's try the following steps to edit the name or username entered in the Fitbit app.

1. Open the Fitbit app and tap your profile picture.
2. Tap the tile with your name.
3. Tap Personal then Display Name.
4. Under Edit Names, tap the one you want to change and enter your changes. You can also choose to display either your name or username to others on Fitbit. 
5. Tap Save.

Note that you can only change your name or user name once every 60 days, and you can only set your user name with the Fitbit app.

thank you for this. i thought about this first as thats a natural way to do it, however for some reason the first couple days it didn't work and it wasn't till like the 3rd or 4th day of owning my Versa 4 and the app that I was able to do this
