Can't edit/update sleep after update

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

For the last couple of days I have not been able to edit sleep that was logged, add additional sleep, or add/edit exercise. The steps were recorded from my recent walk though. The additional exercise would take for one second, and then it would delete from my homepage while I watched. The sleep never took at all, for example, tried to log my additional sleep after 6:00 today and it wouldn't let me. It will only accept the 5 hours that I got before that.

I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the app at least twice, force stopped a few times, cleared the cache, logged out, all the things that are typically suggested for this in other posts. Is this the sink issue that was described on the homepage of this community following the update?

Hi, @2Flo9 , welcome, I experienced a glitch yesterday -

Screenshot_20241103-132733.png

This is the first time I've had an issue with the "Sleep" data. After trying the usual manual sync, force stop, and clearing cache, I deleted and reloaded the Fitbit app (4.28.3). In an abundance of caution, I synced then force-stopped, cleared storage, uninstalled, restarted my phone (Pixel 8 pro), reloaded the Fitbit app, and set it up again. This morning, I have the usual sleep report. Is this a coincidence?

I suggest you give this a try & wear your device overnight to see if it works for you.

Let us know how you get on.

Cheers

Hello @shortelfmaiden

I'm not sure that the issue you're seeing with editing sleep logs or adding/editing exercise data is connected to the syncing/pairing issue that some Android users were experiencing. From what I'm seeing, the update to the Android Fitbit app, version 4.28.3, seems to have fixed the syncing/pairing issue.

Which version of the app do you have? To check, tap on your picture/icon in the upper right of the Today page in the Fitbit app. Tap on Help in the pop-up window. You'll see the app version information on the page that opens.

I have the version that you mentioned since I just recently uninstalled and reinstalled. Being up to date seems to have caused it?

I have the newest version you mentioned in your post since I did the
uninstall reinstall, but that didn't fix anything.

Hello @shortelfmaiden

Thank you for confirming that you have version 4.28.3. I'm not sure that the update caused the issues you're seeing. I will see about escalating this and will report back if I get any updates.

Hi, @lijameshancock, after twice deleting & reloading the Fitbit app I've now had my second consecutive night of complete sleep stats. Normal service seems to have resumed. I'm running a PW2 and Fitbit app on SW version 4.28.3.

Cheers

Basically after trying to force Fitbit to take the information for days, multiple times each time. It finally FINALLY took it tonight after 15 minutes of trying. Ironically losing sleep over undocumented sleep lol.

Nothing suggested ended up helping.

Hi, @shortelfmaiden, thanks for your feedback, have you tried the delete/reload process again? I had to do it twice to get the sleep data to work, I also ensured my PW2 was snug against my skin.

Cheers
