I sometimes log my food either the day prior or the day before but with the fitbit app I can't select a date that I want to add the food entry to.

It looks like this issue is only with the quick add option.

Hi, @MomSully, Welcome. I usually find I need to correct summaries from previous dates. From the "Today" screen, touch the food tile>slide up to the past date you need & touch>"+">add Quick calories>select the meal>& enter the calories>log this> and it takes you back to the date/page summary. We can't enter calories for future dates. I suspect this might not be the solution you are looking for. If you do not have time to log the correct calories, may I suggest you just enter a holding figure (1) so you can go back and edit later.
I hope this helps.
Cheers

@MomSully Sometimes Android is different from iOS and I was seeing the same thing you described. Follow @Gr4ndp4's path. If you need to add to yesterday, tap on that food log first.
Don't use the green "+" button, because that will take you to today's log. Likewise, I can log a named food for a future date, but I can't log quick calories for a future date.
