Can't set up Fitbit with the app

Hi. My Alta HR cannot connect to my account on the fitbit app. I have gotten to the part where the 4 digit code sent to the watch was keyed in to the app, but the "connecting" process never progresses. I have tried it several times and on several phones and also restarted it. Previously this tracker has been paired to and disconnected from another account . What should I do? Thank you!

You mention that it has been disconnected from a previous account. If the previous owner is still around, has it also been removed from their phone's bluetooth settings as this could be blocking connection to a new phone?

I am having the same problem! I tried everything from rebooting, uninstalling, restarting etc. I couldn't sync for days then now can't even connect it back as a device!

Hello everyone.

Thanks for being around to help @SteveH.

As @SteveH mentioned, this could be happening because the Fitbit has bonded to another phone, if you were using it with a different phone in the past. If you were, please try these steps:

  1. Go into the old phone's Bluetooth settings and your Fitbit from the list of paired devices.
  2. Restart your phone.
  3. Run the set up process once again.

That should do the job if the issue is that it bonded with a previous phone.

If that is not the case, please try to follow the steps listed in this help article. Additionally, please answer these questions:

  • What phone are you using?
  • What Android version and Fitbit app version is it running?

Look forward to your reply. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with.
