Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Mixerjohnson29. Please make sure you are attempting to set up your Fitbit Zip using the Fitbit app instead of your device's Bluetooth. You can find here steps to set up your Zip with your supported mobile device.
Whether the above doesn't work and you keep getting the same message please be so kind to provide me with a screen shot of it to further investigate. Let me know how it goes.
