Can't uninstall app off my phone to reinstall

I am having trouble with the app taking up too much space on my phone. I read what was suggested and I stopped the app and tried to uninstall, but it tells me it is a system app and cannot be uninstalled or it locks up the phone. It did not come on my phone, I have a Nokia running Android 10. Suggestions?

It finally uninstalled, but the icon was still there. The only way I know it uninstalled was trying to get into the app and it said it was not installed. There has to be something screwy with this app. I understand that all the information is put up in the cloud, but why does it remain on the phone? At one time I had over 6GB of data on my phone and I was having trouble using or updating other apps.

Hi @Lee73713  I'm running Android 9 and it doesn't take that much space on my phone. Have you tried cleaning the cache using the App Manager? It's not going to hurt anything, but it might just help you.

I tried that first, but it just kept coming back. It was not the cash that was the problem, it was the data. I could not clear it out either, just locked up my phone. I saw the topic down below somewhere about this and followed the instructions, but it did not work. So I followed the other instructions to stop the app, uninstall, and reinstall. I am in the process of trying to reinstall now.

The reinstalled app does work and is taking up waaaay less space. I still say there is something wrong with the app. Why does it keep all that data on the phone when it is on the cloud? Why does it not at least give the option to put that data on the SD card, if it is to remain on the phone?

@Lee73713  glad it helped. Keep an eye on it and if it starts taking more space, post again. Could be all you needed was the new app.

@Lee73713 you will not be able to move to an SD card because a part of the app gets embedded into the OS. This part handles the BT functions like syncing, notifications and connected GPS
