Cannot change app language to different from phone default

On the online dashboard and on my Fitbit, I prefer to use the English language because translations generally suck. However, the app always uses my phone's default language, which is Dutch. Obviously I'm not changing my phone's default language for just one app that doesn't have a working language selection - so how can I change the language in the Fitbit app anyway?

 

Despite the bad translations, I wouldn't mind the language being Dutch if it didn't break certain features. However, in Dutch (and seeing posts far back as 2019, in other languages as well) I can't search for activities not part of the select few default ones - they simply don't show up in the results. It only works when I set my language to English (that's what fixed it on the online dashboard, at least).

 

Using the latest version on a OnePlus 5T.

Small update: I found changing my location in the app settings from Netherlands to Netherlands (English), although it has no effect on the language displayed within the app, does allow me to search for activities in English within the app.

 

However, the fact remains that the other languages/location settings still aren't fully usable since you can't search for activities at all if you don't change it.
