The fitbit doesn't work at all. After charging the fitbit for 6 hours, it still doesn't work. I tried pairing it when it first started charging. I was able to create an account but never add a device. I only got as far as the verification code. After the verification code part, it said searching for a device. Even though my bluetooth was on, it would automatically turn my bluetooth on. I tried multiple times, looking and connecting the device on my bluetooth while having the app open and it would say "it can't connect if the app isn't open" and the fitbit would say download or update app". I tried after 6 hours again and it was the same thing. I took the charger off and it was the same thing.

Appreciate the explanation and what you have tried so far. The connection will be established over the Fitbit app. A connection over the the Bluetooth settings is not possible. I recommend you take a look at the following article: Why can't I set up my Fitbit device?. Which smartphone do you have? I recommend trying using another device for setup as well. Once the device is connected to your account, you can sync on any device you log into.
