Changing food entries

Is there a way to change food entries? Several times I have seen more than one entry for an item and they calories, fat content, etc. were all different from the package. How can this be?

I have also found this. I put it down to the supplier changing the product over time. They all end up in there but there is no way to tell which is the current entry. Also I'm not sure if an international chain may have variations depending on the countries the item is produced for.  There are definitely things showing up in the UK database that look American to me.

Really as products are far more international now this is only going to get worse. The search of the database is pretty diabolical in what it decides to list. I tend to just use my custom entries in areas of confusion.
