Charge 2 not connecting with Samsung Galaxy A40

Hi!

I got a new phone, samsung a40 and now my charge 2 isn't pairing. I've uninstalled the app/reinstalled the app and unpaired the original sync but nothing is working. I reach the part where you type in the code and it stops there, unable to sync or pair. Help!

Hi @FarmerGeorge. It's great to see a new member around.

Thanks for sharing details about your Charge 2, and your phone's model. You did a good job with the steps and let's work on this together. First of all let me share that your Samsung Galaxy A40 isn't a supported device, meaning that the Fitbit app hasn't been fully optimized for this model. While there isn't a guarantee, it might be able to work as before so let's recommend to try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Remove the Charge 2 and any device from the Bluetooth settings.
  2. Turn off other Bluetooth connections that aren't in use.
  3. Although you've reinstalled the Fitbit app, make sure it's updated to the latest version.
  4. On your phone's settings, tap on Apps > Fitbit > Storage > Clear Cache.
  5. Go back one screen and tap on force stop.
  6. Reboot your phone and restart your Charge 2.
  7. Open the Fitbit app, tap on the profile's icon and then on setup a new device.
  8. Choose the Charge 2 and follow the onscreen instructions.

Give it a try and keep me posted!

My wife has a similar problem with her Charge 2 and new Samsung Galaxy A10. We get as far as receiving a 4 digit code on the Charge 2, but the connection process fails to get any further. This was the case before and after following the steps above.

Given that there are clearly a number if A40 users out there unable to connect our fitbits, is there any intention to support this phone? I can't believe it would be difficult for you to support all the major current phones
