Charge 2 not synching with Samsung A8

I have been unable to sync my fitbit to my phone for close to a week now. I tried to troubleshoot myself with no luck and tried to remove my device and add it back again. I cannot add the device back. Spoke with fitbit live chat and they told me there is an issue with the android update 9. I have tried to restart the fitbit, restart my phone etc with no luck

@crystal1985 Welcome! It's good that the community is growing! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

 

Let me help you syncing your phone with your Charge 2 and thank you for troubleshooting this issue. You can try the following:

 

  • Go to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there.
  • Restart your phone and restart your device
  • Check that no battery saving app/feature on your phone is affecting your Fitbit app.
  • Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.

HI Alvaro,

Thanks for the info. I have tried all these steps and still no success. I
tried on two separate computers and no luck. I cannot add my device back,
nor sync or do the fitbit update from the app.

@crystal1985 thank you for the update. Is there any way you can try a different phone? Maybe a friend or relative's phone (iPhone, another Samsung)? If you I would reach out to our Support team again with the update that these methods haven't worked for you.
