Charge 2 not vibrating

I don't feel the buzz any longer from the Charge 2 on my wrist. My hourly activity, reminder to move and take 250 steps seems to have vanished since the new upgraded Fitbit app took over my cell phone.

It's great to welcome you @yaak and @WavyDavey thanks for stopping by.

I would like to know if you keep having problems with your Charge 2? If you do and the tracker continues without buzzing, I recommend restarting it by doing the following:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Clip the other end of the charging cable to the port on the back of the tracker. The pins on the charging cable must lock securely with the port.
  3. Make sure the button on your tracker is aligned with the button opening on the charging cable. You’ll know the connection is secure when the tracker vibrates and you see a battery icon on your tracker’s display. Your Charge 2 will begin charging.
  4. Press and hold the button on your tracker for four seconds. When you see the Fitbit logo and the tracker vibrates, this means the tracker has restarted.
  5. Unplug your tracker from the charging cable.

After the restart process, you can test the Charge 2.

Try this: Go into the app and remove the reminders to move from the menu item, then sync. Then go back into the app and add the reminders back in, and also add notifications to the menu item if it's not there. Then sync again. Finally, go into the tracker and page through to Notifications and make sure it's on.

I feel cheated. The Fitbit Charge 2is grossly inaccurately in counting steps despite going through the routine of restarting it twice. If the gadget is not able to accurately count something basic as steps, how are we to rely in any way on advanced stuff as sleep tracking?!

News of these inaccuracies should have been made available to the general public so people are well informed BEFORE buying them. Was ticks me off is I bought accessories for the thing as well.

A warm welcome to the Community @SunsetRunner and thanks for troubleshooting this by yourself.

If your tracker is not being accurate, I recommend restarting your tracker a couple of times more by following the instructions I provided in my previous post. After this process, walk 100 steps and let me know how many your Charge 2 registered.

Hope to hear from you soon. Woman Happy

I must have reset the Charge 2 over 20 times today in two batches. No effect in terms of improved accuracy. I just retested it.

1) Regardless of a reboot, the Charge 2 does not reset the daily step count. I'll assume it restarts/refreshes the software mechanism.

2) After steps + some it registered, wait for it, 38 steps! I went from 4377 steps to 4415.

Perhaps I should note this as an improvement because previously, when I stepped out of bed and walked to the bathroom (about 25 steps for both ways), it counted 71 steps.

I restarted my charge 2 and still not vibrating, not even for the alarm

 What can I do?

Best Answer

Following your instructions, there was no vibrate when restarting the tracker and it still does not vibrate when notifications come through.  Tried all options numerous times with no resolution.
