Make sure the latest fitbit app is installed. If not already done, feel free to uninstall the app and reinstall freshly as sometimes glitches can occur when installing newer app versions over existing ones.
Optionally restart the phone.
When desired feel free trying to clear the cache of the fitbit app.

I suggest you try the following, @alys, to make sure it is correctly set:
1. In the Android Fitbit app, make sure All-Day Sync and Always Connected are both enabled.
2. Manually sync the tracker with the App. After the sync has completed, log off of the app, and force shut it down.
3. Restart the Charge 2. (Plug the Charge 2 into the charger cable, and make sure the battery symbol displays. Press and hold the side button until the Fitbit logo and version number show. Release the button. The Charge 2 has restarted.)
4. Open the Android app and log back into it.
From then it should be automatically syncing every 15 minutes or so.
